Tens of Thousands Unite for Peace Starts With Me Rally in Newark, NJ
NEW YORK, Dec. 28, 2019 — Tens of thousands of peacemakers gathered at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, on December 28, unified by one powerful message: *Peace Starts With Me*. Amid growing divisions in America, religious leaders representing over 30 Christian denominations, 65 countries, and seven major religious groups came together as one family under the leadership of the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. The packed arena became a place where the walls of belief and borders dissolved, and the audience raised their arms in praise, singing in unison for peace.
"I want to tell you all here: I believe in you," Dr. Moon tearfully shared with the crowd. "You are the righteous people that heaven has been waiting for. A righteous person practices true love and lives for the sake of others."
The legendary Dionne Warwick moved the audience with a powerful rendition of her timeless hit "What the World Needs Now," which brought many to tears as they sang along and embraced in an overwhelming spirit of "love, sweet love." The emotional atmosphere continued with performances by Yolanda Adams, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Noah Stewart, JoAnn Rosario, Kim Burrell, and a 2,000-member choir, with congregations from near and far joining together in song.
The event also marked the inauguration of the World Clergy Leadership Conference (WCLC), a global association of faith leaders committed to uniting humanity in the pursuit of peace. Speaking earlier in the program, Prophet Radebe from the Revelation Church of God in South Africa emphasized the necessity of unity, saying, "To bring one world under God, believers of the world must unite."
The rally was a collaboration between the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), an organization dedicated to fostering peace and unity among all people, and the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), a coalition of faith leaders working across denominations to strengthen families and marriages. Since its inception at Madison Square Garden in 2017, *Peace Starts With Me* rallies have become the world’s largest peace events, with previous gatherings held at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, the City of Refuge mega church in Los Angeles, and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
